North Avenue Market

A Place for the Community to Shine — Together

A truly catalytic project where Milwaukee meets Wauwatosa, the award-winning North Avenue Market stands as a destination food hall that is truly supportive of the community it is situated in, and the myriad minority-owned businesses it houses.

Located in a totally re-imagined bank building from the late 1940s, North Avenue Market’s design is inspired by the automotive industry that drove Milwaukee’s development Westward as cars became the norm, also nodding to the fact that the site was — prior to being a bank — home to one of numerous automotive businesses on the North Avenue strip. Vibrant colors, large feature graphics and local historical stories are the backdrop to what is fast becoming the engaging gathering point it aspired to be at the outset.

Working with o&o studio was one of the best decisions I made in setting up North Avenue Market! They were creative, detail oriented, easy to work with, and helped push me outside my comfort zone to develop a great space loved by our community.
